"DisneyToon Studios cutting costs as CGI projects move in"
10/17/2005
Following in the footsteps of Walt Disney Feature Animation, DisneyToon Studios has begun focusing on producing computer generated movies, according to Jim Hill Media. However, this recent transition has uncovered the fact that computer animated features such as the The Tinkerbell Movie, which is currently in production, cost a noticeable amount more to create. Hence, DisneyToon Studios has started raising efforts to cut down on other costs, including utilizing such measures as stopping the production of The Aristocats II, cancelling the service that allowed free coffee and pastries on Monday mornings, and removing the First Aid kits from the DisneyToon production areas. Apparently, these cost-saving elements are making some DisneyToon staffers nervous about the security of their jobs, especially since, at the moment, there is no project to replace the exterminated Aristocats II.
